While your event at the castle will doubtless be the centrepiece of your visit and that of your guests, the variety, diversity and quality of famous visitor attractions in the local area offer great opportunities to give your guests or delegates a true taste of Highland Scotland, none naturally more compelling than a distillery visit and guided tour.
Blair Castle serves as the main focus for the attractive highland village of Blair Atholl and many local events are held in the castle or its grounds. Other nearby attractions are the world famous House of Bruar and the Falls of Bruar, a working water mill, a country life museum, a superb little highland nine hole golf course at Blair Atholl, and a true test of highland golf at the excellent and very picturesque 18 hole course at nearby Pitlochry.
Within a few miles are Loch Tummel and the Queen’s View Visitor Centre; The Pass of Killiecrankie and the famous Soldier’s Leap; the town of Pitlochry with its Festival Theatre (Scotland’s ‘Theatre in the Hills’), dam and fish ladder; Edradour Distillery, Blair Atholl Distillery (Pitlochry), Dalwhinnie Distillery and Dewar’s World of Whisky (Aberfeldy).
