Launch of Atholl Estates sloe gin

Atholl Estates in Perthshire is delighted to announce the launch of its own-label sloe gin. The recipe was developed with the expertise of the team at the Scottish Liqueur Centre, Bankfoot, where it is blended and bottled.

Atholl Estates Sloe Gin will go on sale exclusively from the Blair Castle shop at the end of August. Guests taking a week’s sporting break in one of the estates 6 historic lodges will receive a complimentary bottle on arrival along with a slip to purchase more.

Mike Dukes, Head of Visitor Services at Atholl Estates commented:
“It makes perfect sense for Atholl Estates to offer its own brand sloe gin which is blended and bottled in Perthshire. Using the sloe berries that grow on the estate, we have developed a local and sustainable product with soft, fruity flavours that sits well with our existing range of Atholl Highlander whisky.”

Another plant ingredient connection is juniper, a dominant flavour in gin. The Atholl Highlander’s, the Duke’s private army, use a sprig of juniper as the symbol of acceptance into the regiment.
